Our packages are a good starting point, but plenty of travellers want something different: a safari followed by a week on the beach, a honeymoon split between Zanzibar and Diani, or a family trip that works for grandparents and toddlers at the same time. That's what tailor-made tours are for.

Ideas we can build

  • Classic Kenya: the Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli in one loop from Nairobi.

How we plan it

We start with a conversation about what you want: the places, the pace, the budget, the kind of accommodation and anything you definitely don't want. We then put together a day-by-day plan with honest travel times, so you can see what a realistic trip looks like. You can change it as many times as you need before booking.

Paying for it

Once you're happy, a deposit secures the trip. With Lipa Polepole, you can then pay the balance in flexible instalments, as long as everything is paid before you travel. It's a practical way to plan a big holiday months ahead.

Departures can start from Mombasa or Nairobi, and we can arrange connecting travel from elsewhere in Kenya.

Questions

Is a tailor-made trip more expensive than a package?

Not necessarily. The cost depends on the destinations, accommodation and transport you choose rather than on whether the trip is custom. We'll show you where the money goes and suggest ways to adjust the plan to fit your budget.

How far in advance should I plan a tailor-made tour?

For peak periods such as July to October on safari, school holidays and Christmas on the coast, start three to six months ahead. For quieter times, a few weeks is often enough, though popular lodges and flights still fill up.

Can I combine Kenya with other countries?

Yes. Popular combinations include Kenya with Zanzibar or Tanzania's Serengeti, and Kenya with a few days in Dubai. We'll explain border crossings, visas and realistic travel times so the itinerary works on the ground.
