5-Day Dubai Holiday
Departs Nairobi · Mombasa

Egypt is the trip that lives up to every picture you've seen. In six days you stand beneath the Great Pyramid, walk through the columns of Karnak, go down into royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings and sail the Nile from Luxor to Aswan, finishing at the colossal temples of Abu Simbel.
You begin in Cairo with the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, then the new Grand Egyptian Museum beside the Giza plateau, home to the Tutankhamun treasures, before an evening in the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. A short flight takes you south to Luxor, where you visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor and board your Nile cruise.
The cruise route runs from north to south, so the sightseeing follows it. On Luxor's West Bank you visit the Valley of the Kings, the terraced Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon before sailing. Next come the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo on the way to Aswan. On the final day, an early trip takes you to Abu Simbel, before you fly back to Cairo for your flight home.
The final day is long. Many guests add a night in Aswan or Cairo to finish at an easier pace.
Land at Cairo International Airport, where our representative meets you and helps you through arrival formalities. Private transfer to your hotel and check-in. Depending on your arrival time, rest or take an evening walk. Egypt's day starts late and runs late, so dinner at nine is normal. Your guide will brief you on the next day's programme. Overnight in Cairo.
Start early at the Giza plateau to see the Great Pyramid, the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure and the Sphinx before the heat and crowds build. Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum next to the plateau, where the Tutankhamun collection is displayed together. In the evening, explore the lanes of Khan el-Khalili bazaar for lamps, spices, perfume and mint tea at a traditional café. Overnight in Cairo.
An early transfer to Cairo Airport for the flight to Luxor, about an hour. Visit the vast Karnak temple complex, with its forest of giant columns in the Great Hypostyle Hall, then Luxor Temple, linked to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes. Board your Nile cruise ship in the afternoon, settle into your cabin and enjoy dinner on board. Overnight on the ship in Luxor.
Cross to Luxor's West Bank early to beat the heat. Enter the Valley of the Kings, where your ticket covers a selection of decorated royal tombs, then visit the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the ship for lunch as it sets sail south through the Esna lock towards Edfu. Afternoon tea and dinner on board. Overnight sailing.
In Edfu, visit the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Back on board, sail to Kom Ombo to see its unusual double temple, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris, with a small museum of mummified crocodiles. Continue to Aswan, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight on the ship in Aswan.
A very early start, around 04:00, for the drive south to Abu Simbel, about three and a half hours each way, to see the giant statues of Ramesses II and the temple of Nefertari. Return to Aswan in the early afternoon and transfer to the airport for the flight to Cairo, about an hour and a half, connecting to your international flight home. Breakfast is packed for the journey.

Yes. Kenyan passport holders generally need to arrange an Egyptian tourist visa before travelling, and the available evidence suggests Kenyans are not currently eligible for Egypt's e-visa. This package includes visa application assistance; the visa fee itself is paid separately. Your passport should be valid for at least six months. We'll confirm the latest requirements when you book.
The cruise sails south from Luxor to Aswan, and the Valley of the Kings is on Luxor's West Bank, while Edfu and Kom Ombo lie further upriver. Visiting the Valley of the Kings before the ship leaves Luxor avoids doubling back, so you see every site in the order you pass it.
Yes. There are short flights from Aswan to Abu Simbel, which save several hours on the road and make the last day much easier. They cost more and depend on the schedule. Alternatively, we can add an extra night in Aswan so you visit Abu Simbel without having to fly home the same day. Ask us for a quote.
Your Valley of the Kings ticket covers a selection of royal tombs that are open on the day. Tutankhamun's tomb, and a few others such as that of Seti I, need separate tickets, which you can buy at the site. Tutankhamun's treasures, including his famous gold mask, are displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum, which you visit on Day 2.
You stay three nights on a cruise ship with an en-suite cabin, a restaurant, a sun deck and usually a pool. Full board means breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on board, with drinks paid separately. The ship sails between sites while you rest, and your guide accompanies you on each shore excursion.
