5-Day Dubai Holiday

Dubai in five days from Kenya: flights, visa processing, a 4-star hotel, old and new Dubai, a desert safari, a Marina dhow dinner and Burj Khalifa's 124th floor.
  • 5 days · 4 nights
  • From Nairobi or Mombasa
  • Visa processing included

Overview

Dubai rewards a plan. Five days is enough to see both the old trading town on the Creek and the glass towers of the new city, spend an evening in the desert and still fit in the shopping, as long as someone has organised the days. This package does that for you, from the UAE visa to the airport transfers.

Day two is a city tour of old and new Dubai: the wind-tower houses of the Al Fahidi district, an abra ride across the Creek to the gold and spice souks, then out along Jumeirah for photo stops before finishing at Dubai Mall for the evening Dubai Fountain show. Day three is the desert safari, with dune bashing in a 4x4, a camel ride, sunset over the sand and a barbecue dinner with live shows at a desert camp.

The view from the top

On day four you shop in the morning, then ride up to At The Top on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa. In the evening you board a dhow cruise in Dubai Marina for dinner on the water, surrounded by the lit-up towers.

  • Return flights between Kenya and Dubai
  • UAE tourist visa processing
  • 4 nights at a 4-star hotel with daily breakfast

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Dubai

Land at Dubai International Airport, clear immigration with your pre-arranged UAE visa and meet our representative for the transfer to your 4-star hotel. Check in and take the rest of the day at your own pace. If you have energy after the flight, a walk along the Creek or a nearby souk is an easy first evening. Overnight in Dubai.

  2. Day 2

Old and new Dubai city tour, Dubai Mall and Fountain

After breakfast, start in old Dubai at the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, then cross the Creek by abra to the gold and spice souks. Continue to modern Dubai with photo stops at Jumeirah Mosque, the Burj Al Arab and Palm Jumeirah. In the late afternoon, head to Dubai Mall for shopping and the aquarium viewing panel, staying for the Dubai Fountain show after dark. Overnight in Dubai.

  3. Day 3

    Desert safari with barbecue dinner

A free morning to rest, swim or shop. In the mid-afternoon, a 4x4 collects you for the drive into the desert, followed by dune bashing over the red sand and a stop to watch the sunset. At the camp, try a camel ride, sandboarding and henna, then enjoy a barbecue dinner with a Tanoura show under the stars. Return to your hotel at around 21:00. Overnight in Dubai.

  4. Day 4

Shopping, Burj Khalifa At The Top and Marina dhow cruise

Spend the morning shopping, whether in the malls or the traditional souks. In the afternoon, ride the high-speed lift to At The Top on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa for views across the city, the coast and the desert. In the evening, transfer to Dubai Marina for a dhow cruise dinner, with a buffet on board as you sail past the towers. Overnight in Dubai.

  5. Day 5

    Departure

Breakfast at the hotel and free time for any last shopping, depending on your flight time. Check out at the hotel's usual time and leave your bags at reception if needed. Our representative collects you for the transfer to Dubai International Airport, arriving about three hours before departure. Remember to keep your shopping within your airline's baggage allowance. Safe travels home.

Good to know

  • Kenyan passport holders need a UAE visa arranged before travel. We process it for you; send a clear passport copy and photo, with at least six months' passport validity.
  • Dress is relaxed in malls and hotels, but cover shoulders and knees in souks, mosques and older parts of the city.
  • From June to September daytime temperatures are extreme. The cooler months, roughly November to March, are best for outdoor tours.
  • During Ramadan, entertainment at desert camps and some evening activities may be adjusted, and eating in public during daylight is discouraged.
  • Flying from Mombasa? We'll quote the best routing, which may connect through Nairobi.

Questions about this trip

Do Kenyans need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. Kenyan passport holders need a UAE tourist visa before travelling, and it is included in this package. We submit the application for you once you send a clear copy of your passport, valid for at least six months, and a passport-style photo. Approval usually takes a few working days, so apply early, especially during school holidays and festive seasons.

Is the desert safari safe for children and older travellers?

The camp activities suit all ages, but dune bashing is a bumpy ride and is generally not recommended for pregnant travellers, people with back or heart problems, or very young children. If that applies to anyone in your group, ask us about a gentler option that drives straight to the camp and skips the dune bashing.

Which floor of the Burj Khalifa do we visit?

The package includes At The Top, the observation decks on levels 124 and 125. A high-speed lift takes you up in about a minute, and the views stretch over the city, the coast and, on clear days, deep into the desert. Sunset slots and the higher-level experiences cost more and can be added on request.

How long is the flight from Kenya to Dubai?

A direct flight from Nairobi to Dubai takes about five hours. From Mombasa, your routing may involve a connection, depending on the airline and season. Dubai is one hour ahead of Kenya, so the time change is easy, and evening arrivals still leave you fresh for the city tour the next morning.
