3-Day Diani Flying Escape from Nairobi

Fly from Nairobi to Ukunda and swap the city for Diani's white sand: return flights, two nights with breakfast, transfers and a guided Diani tour.
  • 3 days · 2 nights
  • From Nairobi
  • Fly from Nairobi

Overview

The flight from Nairobi to Ukunda, the airstrip that serves Diani, takes about an hour, and the transfer to your hotel is just a few minutes more. That makes Diani one of the easiest beach breaks for anyone based in Nairobi: leave the office on Friday morning and you can be in the Indian Ocean by lunch.

This escape gives you two nights on the South Coast with breakfast each day, the flights and transfers already sorted, and a relaxed Diani tour and beach walk to help you get your bearings. You'll see how the long beach changes with the tide, pass the giant baobabs and coastal forest that give the area its character, and learn where to find the best seafood, the quietest stretch of sand and the reliable boat operators.

Plenty of time to do nothing

The rest of the trip is yours. Swim in the warm lagoon, book a snorkelling trip or a glass-bottom boat over the reef, visit the colobus monkeys in the coastal forest, or just find a sunbed and stay there. In the evening, Diani's beach restaurants serve grilled fish, prawns and Swahili dishes with your feet in the sand.

  • Domestic flights have tight baggage allowances, and some aircraft need soft bags. We'll confirm the allowance on your ticket.
  • Carry your national ID or passport for the flight; it's checked at security.
  • The lagoon is tidal. Swimming and snorkelling are best around high tide, and low tide is good for long walks.
